Disney CEO, Tesla founder leave presidential panels after Trump pulls U.S. from Paris climate agreement – Orange County Register


HAWTHORNE — SpaceX and Tesla founder Elon Musk and Disney CEO Bob Iger on Thursday both stepped down from presidential advisory panels in response to Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement earlier in the day.

“Am departing presidential councils,” Musk wrote on Twitter following Trump’s announcement. “Climate change is real. Leaving Paris is not good for America or the world.”

Musk served on the president’s Strategic and Policy Forum, a business advisory group, and also served as an adviser on various jobs and manufacturing efforts.

Iger also served on the business advisory panel, and he announced in a rare Twitter post that he is walking away from the group.

“As a matter of principle, I’ve resigned from the President’s Council over the Paris Agreement withdrawal,” Iger wrote.
