No-confidence motion against block samiti head hangs fire

Due to the non-presence of Congress block samiti members at the time of no-confidence motion moved by Congress members against samiti Chairperson Kulwinder Kaur who belongs to the Akali Dal, the matter stood pending.
Akali-Dal Vice-President Darbara Singh Guru termed the move as the murder of democracy. He said there were total 15 members of the Khamano Block Samiti, of which 7, including the Chairperson belonged to the Akali Dal. He said though one-fifth members could move no-confidence motion, but 2/3rd majority was needed to pass the motion. He said 10 members were needed to pass the resolution and only one member Lakhwinder Singh turned up at the meeting.
